Put your lessons into practice

Your personal Ubuntu terminal comes with Bash, Python, text tools, editors, and seven starter exercises. Your practice files stay between sessions.

Open secure practice lab →Open this computer’s SSH connection →

Use your separate lab login for the secure address. If the automatic hostname is blocked on your network, use this computer’s SSH connection instead.

Start here

cat ~/practice/README.txt

Today’s task: find and count the ERROR lines in ~/practice/access.log, then save those lines to a new file.

What you can practice

Files, permissions, users, processes, text processing, Bash scripts, archives, Python, and local networking. You can use sudo inside the lab.

This container has no Internet access. Full systemd, disk partitioning, and kernel exercises require a separate virtual machine.
